The European Quantum Technologies Conference (EQTC) 2024 took place from November 18th to 20th in Lisbon, Portugal, bringing together experts, researchers, and policymakers to discuss the latest advancements in quantum technologies. The event, held under the motto “Building Europe’s Quantum Future Together,” highlighted Europe’s efforts to lead the way in this cutting-edge field.
Partners from the AMADEUS project actively participated in the conference and its satellite meetings. Thierry Debuisschert played a key role, introducing the Quantum Coordination Board (QCB) during the opening ceremony and at the Quantum Technology Coordination Board (QTCB) meeting. He provided updates on the QCB’s activity during a meeting with the Scientific Advisory Board.
Milos Nesladek delivered an engaging presentation on diamond-based quantum chips, showcasing their potential for future applications. Thierry Debuisschert also chaired discussions during the General Assembly of the QCB, where members received updates from the European Commission and the Quantum Flagship boards. Topics such as benchmarks and standardization were explored, reflecting the importance of collaboration in advancing quantum technologies.
The conference featured a session on quantum sensing, chaired by Thierry Debuisschert, which presented cutting-edge innovations, including:
- Quantum technologies for metabolic MRI
- Quantum non-gaussianity
- Diamond quantum magneto-microscopy
- Quantum sensing at the nanoscale
- Optical atomic clocks
EQTC 2024 was a resounding success, providing attendees with valuable insights into the progress and future directions of quantum technologies in Europe. The event showed Europe’s commitment to advancing quantum technologies through informative sessions and important discussions.
The AMADEUS project is proud to play a role in shaping Europe’s quantum future by encouraging collaboration and driving innovation across different European countries.
