The poster session at the 2024 MRS Fall Meeting & Exhibition in the culturally rich city of Boston, Massachusetts was a resounding success for the AMADEUS partner Diatope GmbH.
The MRS Fall Meeting featured a combination of interdisciplinary cutting-edge research, innovative technologies, and collaborative networking, leading to new discoveries in areas ranging from quantum materials to energy and sustainability.
The Diatope GmbH team had the privilege of presenting their latest advances from the AMADEUS project, which focuses on advancing the market adoption of diamond defect quantum sensors.
They presented the growth of isotopically enriched, standardized, CVD diamonds with NV centers of excellent quality and reproducibility. Core diamond lattice enrichment of 99.99 % 12C was demonstrated, which forms the basis of further research on application-tailored NV diamond layers for quantum sensing applications by depleting the material of nuclear spins inside the diamond which are a major source of decoherence the NV centers experiences.
Furthermore, nitrogen doped CVD diamond was grown as an initial experiment towards NV doped CVD diamond layers with larger thickness on the µm level for their application as quantum sensing material in future magnetometers and spectrum analyzers.
